    Akbar Mughal Emperor was going to Kashmir to pass summer season from Lahore side. At Lakhanwal area one of his musicians died. some people with stay there with his dead body and Akbar proceeded towards Kashmir. The dead body spoiled and they buried him at this area where is Lakhanwal. when Akbar came back musicians request to stay there. he permitted them and ordered to get an area of earth for cultivation and ownership. they ran the horse around the area which is the area / land of Lakhanwal the biggest village of land in District Gujrat. after that the musicians permitted other people to live there and people lived there and get land from musicians for cultivation.
